Historic Prayer Gathering Planned in Malaysia
In an historic moment for Protestant churches in Malaysia, church and prayer leaders from all over the country (representing most major prayer networks) met on July 5, 2012, to discuss God’s urgent call for united prayer for churches and the nation.
As participants voiced their concerns, they agreed that Malaysia is facing many critical issues—and the Church needs to come together in prayer. The meeting reflected a great sense of unity and hope for a national prayer initiative. The resulting PRAYER UNITED organization will set up a prayer movement that will identify key strategic issues for prayer and communicate them clearly and quickly to all prayer networks and churches.
A special focus is the National Jubilee Celebration that began on September 16, and will continue through the next year, acknowledging 50 years of Malaysia’s existence as a nation. The movement’s prayer focus is that God will usher in a new season of peace, prosperity, freedom, and justice for the land.
